How does Amazon Flex standing work?
Amazon Flex standing is a four-level score (Fantastic, Great, Fair and At Risk) based on your recent delivery history in a few areas: arrival and pickup, delivery, returns and following the Terms of Service. Amazon says most delivery partners are Fantastic or Great. Standing sets your Rewards points multiplier, and At Risk pauses rewards. Repeated late cancellations, no-shows or terms violations can lead to a manual review and deactivation.
What standing is made of
| Area | What Amazon asks for |
|---|---|
| Arrival and pickup | Arrive and check in on time. Earliest arrival is 15 minutes before the block. Cancel at least 45 minutes ahead. |
| Delivery | Deliver on time, complete every delivery, follow reasonable instructions, leave packages in a safe place. |
| Returns | Return undelivered packages to the pickup location by the end of the block or by 10 a.m. the next day, and scan them in the app. |
| Terms of Service | No bots or automated tools, accurate undeliverable codes, pick up every order in your block. |
| Customer service | Read delivery notes, confirm the address, handle items with care, act professionally. Customer feedback appears under Your Dashboard. |
Amazon has not published the cutoffs between levels or exactly how many recent deliveries count. Drivers commonly report that problems take a day or two to show up in the dashboard. Check Your Dashboard > Standing details in the app for your current breakdown.
What each level means for you
| Standing | Rewards points | What it signals |
|---|---|---|
| Fantastic | 3× (30 per block) | Meeting expectations across the board |
| Great | 2× (20 per block) | Solid; small issues |
| Fair | 1× (10 per block) | Problems to fix soon |
| At Risk | 0 | Rewards paused; deactivation review possible |
Point multipliers are from the Rewards terms. Higher points help you reach Level 2, where Preferred Scheduling unlocks reserved offers (see how to get blocks).
Habits that protect standing
- Forfeit early or not at all. 45 minutes is the line; set a phone reminder one hour before each block.
- Take a clear delivery photo that shows the package and the door or unit number, not people.
- Use the right code. If you cannot deliver (no access, business closed, unsafe), choose the matching reason in the app instead of leaving the package anywhere.
- Return on time. Undelivered packages go back by the end of the block or 10 a.m. the next day, scanned.
- Grocery orders: count bags at pickup. If something is missing, have staff or Support fix it before you leave, and note what happened.
- Contact the customer through the app when a gate code or entrance is unclear.
Watch: getting back to Fantastic
NPursuit describes slipping from Fantastic to a lower standing and the delivery habits the creator credits for getting it back, comparing them with advice from top-rated drivers featured on Amazon's Flex blog. How standing is calculated is Amazon's call; the video shows what worked for one driver.

Recovering from Fair or At Risk
Because standing reflects recent history, a run of clean, on-time blocks is the main way back. Favor block types and areas you know, avoid booking blocks you might drop, and do not take more stops than you can finish. If a drop came from something outside your control (a store missing a bag, a station delay), ask Driver Support to note it; creators report this does not always remove the impact, so document it yourself too.
Frequently asked questions
What are the Amazon Flex standing levels?
Fantastic, Great, Fair and At Risk. Amazon says most delivery partners are Fantastic or Great.
What affects Amazon Flex standing?
Arrival and pickup, delivery, returns and following the Terms of Service, plus customer-service behavior. Late forfeits, late or failed deliveries and late returns are the common causes of drops.
What happens if your Amazon Flex standing is At Risk?
You can still deliver, but you earn no Rewards points and cannot access new rewards until your standing improves. Repeated problems can lead to a manual review and deactivation.
How long does it take to improve Amazon Flex standing?
Amazon has not published a time window. Standing is based on recent delivery history, so a series of clean, on-time blocks is the way back.
